DENVER—Center for Western Priorities’ Trevor Kincaid made the following statement in response to Interior Secretary Sally Jewell’s address, today, at the National Press Club:
“Secretary Jewell’s vision to balance conservation with energy development gives hope that the pristine wilderness we inherited will be available to our kids and grandkids. Jewell’s recognition that Congress’ failure to protect special places is the Administration’s opportunity is encouraging for communities that are gateways to protected lands and communities that want to be gateways to protected lands. The road will be long for Secretary Jewell and her staff at the Interior Department, but if conservation and development can work to find equal ground, it could also be a rewarding endeavor.”
