DENVER—The Center for Western Priorities released the following statement in response to a letter signed by twenty-three oil and gas associations requesting Congress to preserve the $4 billion in subsidies they currently receive annually.
“The most profitable corporations in the history of the world are asking for taxpayers to give them even more handouts in free, taxpayer funded government subsidies. Meanwhile, our country is working to make responsible cuts in effort to stave off economic collapse and protect Western families. It begs the question: What can they do with $141 billion that you can’t do with $137 billion?”
